![]() ![]() ![]() I wrapped it up with a bad ending due to walking into the final area by accident and since I couldn't die, I eventually completed the (incredibly lame and overly difficult) final battle - of course, that's not the real end of the game, which is probably the only right way to experience the game, so I reloaded after the ending and completed the manual.ĭeath's Door was a lot of fun, but I stopped playing it after a bit - I have no recollection as to why, I think I just sort of drifted away from it as other games I was excited about came out*, but I keep meaning to revisit it. I blew through it pretty quick and enjoyed the visuals and the sense of exploration and discovery, and I really liked reading through the manual pieces and figuring things out from there (even if sometimes it had to be pointed out by a walkthrough because I couldn't really figure everything out on my own). Or it is just super unresponsive on the Switch, maybe that's the thing, but regardless I only had fun when I turned No Fail mode on and then I was constantly thinking to myself "how is this even possible without No Fail mode?" which kind of ruined the experience. If you swing, you can't dodge until that swing completely finishes. ![]() I was really excited for Tunic and waited for the Switch version, but I found the actual combat incredibly frustrating (and the movement speed just a shade to slow to feel good/satisfying to move around in the game's space) - the controls don't feel great and I believe it's because (unlike something such as Dark Souls) you can't cancel animations to do something else. ![]()
